Brake components heat sharply during application and cool between stops. Forged, properly normalised material resists the distortion and residual stress relaxation that repeated cycling would otherwise cause in a cast part.

Cam lobes, journal areas and anchor pin surfaces are induction hardened and ground, so bushing wear stays within tolerance across the maintenance interval.
