Bore Alignment Is Everything
The two bearing bores must be coaxial and perpendicular to the shaft axis. Machined in a single dedicated setup, they hold that relationship; machined separately, they induce a bending moment on the cross that shortens joint life dramatically.

Spline Drive and Fit
Splines are cut or broached to standard and gauge verified so the yoke seats without rock on the shaft. A loose spline fit hammers itself oversize within a few hours of PTO running.
Yoke Arm Strength
Arms are forged with grain running along their length and a generous root fillet, because the arm root is where an overloaded yoke opens up under peak torque.
