Forged Valve Bodies & Bonnets

A valve body must hold pressure across a complex internal cavity while resisting thermal cycling and, often, corrosive media. Forged bodies are specified over cast wherever leakage risk is unacceptable, because there is no porosity network to leak through.

Pressure Integrity Without Porosity

Interconnected porosity in a casting can form a leak path invisible on the surface. Forged bodies have no such path, which is why API and ASME work in critical service so often specifies forged construction.

Machining the Internals

Seat pockets, stem bores, bonnet flanges and end connections are machined with concentricity held between the bore and the seating face, since it is that relationship that determines whether the valve seals at low differential pressure.

Materials for Aggressive Service

A105 for general duty; F11 and F22 for elevated temperature; F304, F316 and duplex grades where corrosion resistance governs. Each grade is spectro verified before it enters production.
