Forged Pins & Bushes
Pins and bushes are consumables in every articulated machine, and their replacement interval sets the maintenance cost of the whole assembly. Forged, case hardened and ground pins extend that interval substantially over turned bar alternatives.

Surface Hardness and Core Toughness
A pin needs a hard surface to resist bushing wear and a tough core to survive shock. Case hardening or induction hardening on forged stock gives both; through-hardened bar gives one at the expense of the other.
- Case or induction hardened surfaces
- Tough core resists shock loading
- Ground to h7 / h8 fits
- Consistent hardness across batches
Fits and Finish
Ground to h7 or h8 with Ra 0.8 µm or better, so the pin-bush clearance starts at the design value rather than at whatever a turned tolerance produced. Grease grooves and cross-holes are machined where lubrication requires them.
Sizes and Applications
8 mm to 200 mm diameter, up to 1,500 mm length, serving earthmoving linkages, trailer suspensions, agricultural implements, cranes and general machinery.
People also ask
What hardness do you supply pins at?
Typically 55 to 62 HRC case hardness over a tough core, ground to h7 or h8 with Ra 0.8 µm or better.
Can pins and bushes be supplied as matched sets?
Yes, clearance-matched sets that remove tolerance mismatch during field reassembly.
