Die Cost Is One-Time
A die is a substantial one-off investment that is amortised across the order. Spread across 500 pieces it adds meaningfully to each part; across 20,000 it becomes almost invisible. This is why the same part quoted at two quantities produces two very different per-piece prices.

Piece Price Composition
Material is typically 40–60%, calculated on billet weight including flash rather than finished weight. Forging operation is 10–20%, heat treatment 5–10%, machining 15–40% where applicable, and inspection and packing 3–8%.
Estimating Before You Enquire
Calculate billet weight from the part volume plus 8–15% for flash, multiply by the grade's rate per kilogram, then roughly double it to cover process, machining and margin. That gives an order-of-magnitude figure to sanity-check any quotation you receive.
